It is accomplished. Terri Schiavo has been killed. Her life has been successfully destroyed. Needlessly, heartlessly, senselessly destroyed. Her suffering was great, but God will somehow, in His wisdom, use that suffering for good. And, His justice will require that those who are responsible for her death will be called to answer for it.

For Terri's family--her mother, father, brother--I have the deepest sympathy. For our judiciary system, I have nothing but contempt. For our country, I have nothing but fear.

May the saints and angels come to greet her. May the Blessed Virgin Mary smile at her coming. May our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, welcome her into the new and heavenly Jerusalem. May every one of her tears be wiped away. May she rejoice in the presence of Almighty God, today and forever. Amen.

Today we grieve for Terri. May she rest in peace, and may God comfort her family and all who grieve today.
Tomorrow will be time to recommit to the struggle to protect and defend all vulnerable human beings.
With the help of God, let us change our society to one that respects life.

"For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world."
